 This project is about sharing the great news about Jesus through a small group quilting session. Each element in the account of the Woman at the Well recorded in the gospel of John chapter 4 is represented by a shape within a quilt block. As the piecing of the block takes place, the woman at the Well's life is pieced together. The attendee will take home a completed quilt block as a tactile reminder of the Woman's story and of her own decision.

The block resembles the one shown in the upper corner of this page. It is 25cm (about 10 inches) square. The timeless venue of women sewing cloth together brings a relaxed and enjoyable experience as their handiwork is completed. For some, it is also a means to learn the art of quilting and potentially the means to provide income. Importantly, a woman does not need to read the materials to understand the story that a group leader will bring, making this an outreach opportunity for any group of women in the world.

Materials: A free Pattern Packet provides the templates and piecing instructions and narrates the story of the woman. The packet also includes a copy of the gospel of John. In addition a free Fabric Packet provides all of the fabric shapes and needles and thread for one block.

It is for all women of the world, however, even a few men have participated with interest at times!
